台電公司不敢對用電大戶的科技園區漲價,且提供優惠電價,而對市井小民漲聲不斷,使物價通膨,民怨不斷;但號稱適合居住的卑詩省又有何異 :cry:
卑詩水電局擬議於未來3年申請增加電費26%,但是他們的薪資的不合理,才是漲價的主因: 去年的薪資統計,BC Hydro下共有2,667名員工年薪10元萬以上,多達45%的水電局雇員登上「六位數字俱樂部」成員,占水電局所有人力總數的45%,連水電局的司機、秘書、纜線絞接工人、植樹部門經理等員工,竟然也享有10萬元,甚至20萬元高薪,比起教師平均6萬元薪資多太多了,最好的司機薪水大概就是卑詩水電局了, 水電局高級副總裁萊利(Chris O'Riley)為例,本薪加福利已有44萬1572元,還能 拿8萬9300元「激勵獎金」。難道大到不可砍•無法管了嗎?除了自由黨的自肥13年所以無人可管,工會支持的NDP更是不敢講話,也難怪省民不敢支持NDP主政了。
卑詩省政府的獨佔性•壟斷性事業水電、瓦斯、車保(ICBC)、大眾運輸車票、地稅、渡輪為何每年都漲的主因就是:加拿大總理哈柏年薪32萬,Translink 的CEO(Javis) 年薪39萬5千,其所屬的交通警察年薪也有10萬元,卑詩渡輪前 CEO(David Hhn)2011的年薪是超過100萬,現在換了一個年薪90萬,但是渡輪還每年虧損,還每年調漲,由於票價超過美國華盛頓州5倍.所以我已6年沒再卑詩省搭過渡輪了

當具獨佔或壟斷性質,或規模過大為私人之力所不能辦者,如水電、瓦斯、航路之屬,由國家經營管理之,使私有資本制度不能操縱國民之生計;但是依VANCOUVER SUN調查顯示2012年卑詩省公務員7萬人,年薪超過10萬的就有1萬9千人,所以是他們在服務我們,或是我們在供養他們,難怪安省的童年級學生教育水平可以比卑詩省來的高,長遠看來,只要此現象不變,卑詩省將會成為不適宜居住的省分 :(

ICBC明年又要漲保費了

What is it with public-sector salaries in excess of $400,000? Who makes that kind of cash?

VANCOUVER — The Insurance Corp. of B.C., as it announced a premium rate hike for drivers last week, crowed about its success in trimming administrative costs.
But the reality is, it had so much corporate fat to cut, public reaction to its efforts should reflect exasperation rather than praise.
ICBC’s interim president Mark Blucher boasted last week: “Despite the fact our administrative costs have always been low compared to the industry average, we have made changes to aggressively reduce these costs even further.”
Indeed, in late 2012, ICBC eliminated 260 positions — mostly management — and cut its operating costs by $50 million.
Management salaries, totalling $145 million last year, have been frozen and are scheduled to be reduced this year to $131 million.
Blucher, also senior VP of insurance, noted that such reductions enable ICBC to keep administrative costs to five cents of every insurance premium dollar.
He failed to mention, however, that staffing costs at the provincial Crown corporation had ballooned by $52.5 million between 2007 and 2011, with a 32-per-cent increase in management positions — 272 hires.
The administrative cuts cited by Blucher were a direct response to a scathing August 2012 audit by the finance ministry that uncovered the bloated workings of the auto insurer.
The audit warned ICBC it needed to adopt “a culture of cost containment and financial discipline across the organization.”
It also revealed an unbelievable spending free-for-all, including easily earned management bonuses, $1.8 million worth of staff lunches and Christmas parties in 2011, out-of-province training, travel and retreats with golf and wine tours.
Following that audit, then-CEO Jon Schubert — who was being paid salary and bonuses of $486,541 — resigned his post by mutual agreement, but stayed on until June 30 as a paid consultant.
And Schubert was far from the only $400,000-plus earner in the organization.
